September 6 - Port Milwaukee Lays the Foundation of New Seventeen Million Dollar South Shore Cruise Dock: A Major Boost for Great Lakes Tourism across US

Port Milwaukee has officially broken ground on its new $17 million (US) South Shore Cruise Dock, a major infrastructure project aimed at enhancing the city’s tourism appeal and boosting Great Lakes tourism. On track to open in June 2026, the dock will improve access for cruise ships and passengers arriving in Milwaukee. With cruise traffic expected to more than double from 22 visits to 55 visits next year alone, this major investment positions Milwaukee as a key player in the future of Great Lakes cruising.
